Lightning Strikes Twinsburg
(aka Lightning Strikes)

This gentler, short, coming-of-age story introduces some of the characters who later appear in Lightning Bugs And Aliens. The story is set in a small, rural, blue-collar Ohio town in the late 50’s-early 60’s, and told through 13-year old Ben’s eyes who works with his dad, his grandfather, and an older Black man in a tavern they own that’s become a gathering place for the town. A genuine, Tom Sawyer, intergenerational tale. Straight-forward and true to the heart for ages 10 to adult.

No More Illusions...
A Dylan Blake Mystery

weaves between Big Sur, the seedy part of the Central Valley, Northern California, and Utah. It features a cast of well developed characters — a 41-year old detective with his own family secrets who enjoys hiking, listens to NPR and R&B, and reads Gandhi...Juliana, his twice-divorced, independent girlfriend with two young kids whose transitioned from high stakes baccarat dealer to 2nd-grade teacher...a 40-something business woman wronged by her ex and attracted to Blake...her Billionaire, puritanical brother and a daughter in trouble, an aging mafioso yearning for a good fight, a police chief who talks about the Kardashians, a 13-year old Black kid from Compton, and a dog named Watson. Atits core, it’s about relationships and where to draw the line. Mystery, suspense, romance... a page- turner all the way through thatwon’t leave you depressed. Kirkus Reviews called the novel “accomplished...ambitious crime fiction featuring a sensitive, complex hero and a promising array of supporting characters...a multilayered tale with shades of California noir à Chinatown.
